Giving Voice to Depression Podcast: My Battle with Postpartum Depression

We need to talk about something real: Postpartum Depression (PPD). It’s not easy to talk about, but it is necessary, especially for mothers like us.

So let’s dive in and explore my journey with PPD—the ups and downs—and why we must break the silence.

Revealing My Battle With Postpartum Depression

Isn’t being a mom crazy? It’s not all sunshine and rainbows for everyone. When I became a mother, postnatal depression crept in and overshadowed what should have been the happiest time of my life. I was confused, overwhelmed and scared. Have you ever felt this way?

Discovering Courage Through Storytelling

I gathered all the strength I had left one day and decided to share my experience on the Giving Voice to Depression Podcast, a platform where people can tell their stories about living with mental illness or supporting someone who does.

As a first-time mom fighting against her own mind daily, I laid everything bare through vulnerability because I knew it would help others – even if only one person finds comfort in knowing they’re not alone.

Silencing No More

You see… awareness of mental health is important, particularly regarding motherhood. Hence, let us break this silence together, shall we?

We need each other more than anything right now, so let’s share our stories loudly enough to reach every corner of our communities, thereby creating an atmosphere of support for moms everywhere.

What do you think?
